About the 2.5T Rough Terrain Forklift (2WD)
The 2.5T Rough Terrain Forklift is the right hire machine when standard warehouse forklifts are not suited to the ground conditions on site. Where cushion-tyre and smooth-floor counterbalance machines require sealed, level hardstand, this forklift is built for the surfaces that outdoor sites actually present — gravel access roads, compacted earth, uneven concrete aprons, grass paddocks, and the rough-cut ground common on active construction and civil works sites. Powered by a Yanmar 4TNE98 diesel engine producing 42.1 kW, the machine delivers consistent traction and lift performance throughout the working day without dependence on charging infrastructure or fuel supply beyond a standard diesel bowser. At 2,500 kg rated capacity with a 500 mm load centre, it handles the full weight range of palletised building materials, bagged products, machinery, and unit loads that construction and agricultural operations regularly move.
The 2WD configuration keeps the machine compact and straightforward to operate on sites where ground conditions are firm enough not to require four-wheel drive — which covers the majority of construction, landscaping, and rural applications in the Geelong and Surf Coast region. With a 2,900 mm turning radius and an overall length of 4,245 mm, it manoeuvres efficiently in the tighter confines of active site yards and farm sheds. The wide-view duplex mast provides clear sightlines when placing loads at height, and the standard 3,000 mm lift height suits the stacking and destuffing work typical of site deliveries — with options to 5,500 mm for applications requiring higher reach. Pneumatic tyres front and rear give the machine the ground clearance and grip needed to operate safely on uneven terrain without sacrificing stability under load.
Key Features
- Yanmar 4TNE98 diesel engine — 42.1 kW output rated to Tier 3 / Stage IIIA emissions standards; suited to full-day outdoor operation on sites without access to grid power or charging infrastructure
- Pneumatic tyre configuration — large-section front tyres (12-16.5 14PR) and robust rear tyres (27x10-12 12PR) provide traction, cushioning, and ground clearance on gravel, compacted earth, grass, and uneven hardstand
- Compact 2WD footprint — a 2,900 mm turning radius and 1,557 mm overall width allow the machine to work in active site yards and through standard site gates without the additional width of a 4WD configuration
- Wide-view duplex mast — clear forward sightlines when lifting and placing loads; standard 3,000 mm lift with options to 5,500 mm to cover site stacking and container-height work
